I thought I would try another free ISP since 1st Nation appears to be gone. I was looking for no banners, or at least small banners and "FreePC a Week" fit the latter. Unfortunately, after downloading the software, I have not been able to access this ISP. The dialer would connect, but I got error messages stating my password was incorrect. There is a telephone number to call for connection problems, which happens to be local for me. The call is answered by an answering machine that only states the extension number, no company name. Probably some third party contractor. I left a message, and have not received a call after three days. So much for any help.
Just for the heck of it, I re-downloaded the software and tried again. This time a splash panel came up, stating not to select phone numbers ending in 4782. Alas, that is 99% of the numbers listed to use. While on that subject, the phone number selection lists lot of locations, all with the same number! Having found the 1 number on the list not ending in 4782, I tried again. Same result, no go! Later I checked the web site from another ISP and the sign-up screen had been replaced with a screen advising of network trouble and to check back later for updates. That has now been in place for the last 2 days. It must be big trouble!Tonight it has been replaced with a "page not found" screen.
Ah well, looks like another one bites the dust!
If things change, I will re-write this review, but I am not holding my breath. Save yourself some time and pass on this until some sign of life appears.
