I purchased this CD-R about 2.5 yrs ago now. AND STILL USE IT TODAY. For a whopping 350.00 at that time. New technology is expensive. From my experience Teac makes excellent products.
This was the first or second burner that they sold. And they did good on using this burner to get them started out. It might only be a CD-R writing at 4x and reading at 12, but IT WILL BURN EVERY SINGLE CD THAT YOU THROW AT IT!!! NO MATTER WHAT COPYWRITE PROTECTION THAT IS ON THE CD, IT WILL READ AND BURN IT!!!!
Alot of games out there have very difficult copywrite protections on it to prevent piracy. But to make a backup is not illegal. And for people to make a backup is very smart, because once it is scratched bad enough. It is junk, and then you must go and pay full price for a new one. That gets old after a while, especially if you have children that have access to the computer.
I hope this helped you out a little bit. AND USE ONLY QUALITY NAME BRAND CD'S. THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT ALSO. IF YOU WANT TO USE THE BEST OF THE BEST, USE TDK reflex's and Sony CDQ-74-CN.
I promise they rock!!!!!
