The SoundBlaster LIVE supports these features...

* Supports a growing number of software titles, including games
* Allows for 4-speaker surround sound
* Up to 64 hardware accelerated sound channels
The SoundBlaster LIVE also comes in 4 flavors. Value, which is the cheepest and comes with just the SBLive card and needed software. The X-Gamer which comes bundled with a number of gaming titles. The MP3+ which includes music making, editing, and compression software. And finally the Platnium which includes the Live Drive which allows for MIDI i/o, audio i/o, and S/PDIF i/o.
I have used the SoundBlaster LIVE for adding effects to games, and even the smallest echo makes Quake alot more interesting (Quake1 I mean).
If you are looking for a digital-audio solution for your work or your play, the SoundBlaster LIVE is the best choice. Anything else just doesn't cut it.
