I really, really wanted to like this trackball. I'm a big fan of Logitech and I've been their trackballs ever since the early 90's when I discovered that my aching wrists were due to the mouse.

I thought this would be perfect for the computer that I have hooked up to my home theater. I needed a wireless mouse/trackball that I could use on the couch about 10 feet away from the computer. After I got it home I discovered that it only has a range of about 4-6 feet! So, really, this thing is only usable on the desktop. I don't get what the point is of a wireless trackball that can only be used in very close proximity to the computer. Cords are never a issue with trackballs anyway because you don't move them around. It just adds expense with little benefit. And make sure you have extra batteries around because it really sucks when it runs out and you don't have another battery around. It's pretty tough to do much in Windows without a pointing device.

I took it into work after it didn't do what I needed at home. I used it for about 4 months at work but never really got used to it. I guess it's a matter of preference but I find thumb controlled trackballs to be hard to use. And it was a nightmare for anyone else to use my computer. This is a very hard trackball for to use for people who've never used trackballs. My experience is that most people find finger tip controlled trackballs easier to use.

On the plus side it is very ergonomic. If you like thumb controlled trackballs this one is quite comfortable. But it just didn't work well for me. Unless you are sure that you will like I'd suggest buying it from a local store so you can return it easily.
