Yesterday I wrote an opinion about a cheaper way to connect your computers at home. It was called: To Share Or Not To Share?
There I made a recommendation about using a small piece of software called Jana Proxy Server.
Today I'll explain to you why I think this software is great.
First it is free to download and does not have any sort of limitations.
Second is doing a good job, at least for me, for more than one year without any troubles.
Third is a complete package, meaning you can use ICQ, Real Player, Mirc when behind the proxy.
There are also weak points in the software, but I found weak points in packages that are sold for good money.
What I mean by weak points? Let's see!
First the settings are a bit more difficult than for other programs I used, but this could be a personal problem related to my limited knowledge.
Second the speed seems to be lower than the speed I had when running PPP Shar, another small application for internet sharing I tried.
