Windows 98 is the most unstable, insecure, and corruptable OS I have ever laid my hands on. What kind of product has manufacturers that recommend ru-installing it every so often to avoid file corruption? The answer is quite simple. Microsoft is a big name company. They are famous. Microsoft is a household word. They can get away with selling a product that they very well know is buggy. Why do this? Because in a year or two, or even sooner they will have another version of the same thing that they can sell to you to fix the original product. Take for example Windows 98 and Windows 98 secon edition. There is absolutly no difference between the two products except for the fact that the second edition has bugs fixed in it. But does Microsoft offer the non-broken version for free to those who ran out and bought the broken version? Of course not! They sell it to them for just under a hundred dollars! So, you say, what is the answer, buy a Mac? Well thats your decision, but I would rather get a Linux machine.
