I just picked up my e-machine Monster 500a a few days ago. I got mine at Costco with an e-view 17" monitor for well under $2000 CDN (that's about $1200 for you USA types - so you could get it for well under $1200).

I looked at a lot of different packages and most Pentium III 500 machines were well over the $2000 (CDN) price range for the same options the emachine offers.

The 8x dvd drive combined with the 16 meg graphics card offers excellent dvd playback for movies.

The 13 gig hard drive is ample space and with a 56K modem this machine has it all.

So far I am very impressed and look forward to using this product.
