The 100 MB of the first version started to show their limits.
Fortunately Iomega came out with this new little jewel that I use daily to transfer my files from/to my workstation. I use it under Windows NT 4.0 workstation on an AP500 Compaq box. At the beginning I got some problems because the Compaq SCSI controller did not let me install an external device so I had to buy the PCI SCSI card that Iomega provides. I thought I was done but the drivers installation drove me crazy for a while. Under NT workstation in fact the installation is not as straight as under 95/98.
Anyway, I got it working and it is almost as fast as my internal hard drive. Nothing compared to the parallel version I use at home... if you have to monthly backup 1-200 MB and are willing to wait a few minutes the parallel version is still acceptable, but if you work with big files every day then I really recommend to spend that little difference to purchase a SCSI version. Speed is definitely superior and let you use the unit as another hard drive.
