--Luckily for me I never had to spend $100 to buy this software because I had it at my work. I worked at State Street Bank last summer where I used Front Page 98 along with Microsofts Personal Web Server and Windows NT to operate my groups intranet web site. I knew a lot of HTML prior to using Front Page 98, but it wasn't a necessity in using this software.
Point and click
Front Page has one of the best formats for creating HTML through button clicking. You don't need to know how to program to use this software. You only need to spend some time learning what each button does. It has an internal browser that allows you to view the changes you make to the web page. Also, you can either create HTML in a MS Word type of fashion by inserting tables, forms, and text or you can write the HTML explicitly.
Easy Editing
The point and click style of creating HTML makes it fast and easy to edit your web pages. No more repetitive coding.
Adding your own code
You can add your HTML or Javascript. Also it allows you to add CGI, java, and other code.
Advanced Features
1.Guest Books
2.Store information that's submitted from forms
3.small search engine
4.web bots
Downfalls
1.Takes a little while to learn how to use
2.You will need a manual to tell you how to learn advanced functions
3.I tried having forms that I created on my web page to send the info into an Access database, but the coding was tricky and this function has some bugs in it.
Conclustion
This is one of the best ways to create web pages. I never want to have to write out all the HTML for a web site again. This software is must if you're creating web pages.
