It's easy to be naive. Just surf along, visiting chat rooms, and e-commercing your way through life, all without protection from prying eyes. But it's a lot smarter to understand that the world is full of people who would love to compromise your computer system. In fact, odds are someone is trying to do just that right now. And here is where BlackIce Defender makes you look a whole lot smarter. I would recommend BlackIce Defender for anyone who has an internet connection for the following reasons:
1) Great Protection: First and foremost, when unsolicited traffic is detected, BlackIce prevents further transmission from that IP address. This is the most important feature and it prevents someone from running, say, Back Orifice on your computer.
2) Runs In The Background: You won't know BlackIce Defender is doing its thing until it alerts you that you've been attacked. Otherwise, you'll never know it's there.
3) Easy To Install: I downloaded my copy from the internet and had no problems with setup. Everything was done automatically for me. Couldn't have been simpler.
4) Educates: BlackIce Defender is linked to the company's website were you can learn quite a bit about the different kinds of attacks you'll surely see over the course of time. Great content.
5) Free Upgrades: For a full year after you purchase the product, you receive support and free upgrades, which is important since attacks evolve over time.
6) Attack Information: Whenever an attack is intercepted, information on the attacker, including IP address, is logged. Knowing this information is great if you care to track down whoever is attacking you.
7) Piece Of Mind: Most of all, using a copy of BlackIce Defender gives you piece of mind. Knowing that attacks against your computer are impotent certainly lets you relax whenever you venture online.
I recommend BlackIce Defender for anyone who has an internet connection. The amount and consistency of random attacks on your computer merits some sort of protection, and BlackIce Defender fits the bill perfectly.
