Pros:Excellent Graphic, Gameplay, Over-all Quality of Development
Cons:Needs more Autos, Multiplayer
The developers of Electronic Arts should deserve a pay raise after the release of Need for Speed III. Feeding off the addition of those Sim Junkies out there, this software not only was a very well developed simulation, but one still talked about and played to this day. Electronic Arts has always strived for excellence and this software is a prime example of that ideal. This software is not targeted just for those Sim Junkies; I personally am not an extreme simulation gamer, however this game kept me at home for plenty of hours.
* Selection of Autos from around the world is available ranging from the Chevy's Corvette to the lightning fast Ferrari 355 Spider. Each vehicle has their personalized showcase which displays accurate info on the cars today, ranging from estimated price, weight, 0-60 time, to max speed. Selecting Car Compare will not only rate your selected auto with a graph depicting quality but also will compare those to another Auto available, making your selection a bit easier.
* During gameplay, Electronic Arts developers show their stuff as every detail is not only added to assume 3D animation, but to almost 100% accuracy. Ranging from the available tracks background features to the steering wheel of the interior of your selected auto, this is as close as your going to get riding in a Ferrari 355 with such realism.
* Game modes which are available makes the game even that more exciting. Single Race is simply that, one race that you choose your car class, car, track, weather, night driving or day driving, and difficulty. Hot Pursuit puts you into the reality of life, speed and face the consequences. Selecting an Auto other than a Police Auto will allow you into the 'be chased' seat. Selecting a Police Auto will allow you to become the hunter and chase all the unlawful speeders on the track. Knockout is a single elimination tournament where the last place car is disqualified from racing the next track. This process is continued till there is only 2 racers on the final track. Tournament allows racers to race for points based on how well or poorly they place after crossing the finish line. Highest point total wins the Tournament.
Need for Speed III has many features that will keep this game around for a very long time. Some improvement would be more Autos available, a bit more tracks or a highly difficult track from an actual track in existence. Also, I had problems with the multiplayer mode, which deterred me from playing multiplayer mode at all. Besides that, Need for Speed is a definite grabber and would suggest this software to every sim junkie out there.
