Macromedia Dreamweaver UltraDev is a developers Nightmare.
Yes, many may say that this product works miracles for them. This product can simplify the development process of web based applications by 50%, if not more. The real issue here is, once dreamweaver generates the code, its all most impossible to add your own custom code. Since dreamweaver ultradev lacks advanced database tools, query wizards, and customizable functions, 95% of the time you need to add your own code.
Ultradev comes with the same WYSIWYG interface as Dreamweaver, which in my opinion is great. From a designers point of view, i'd say Ultradev is a great tool. From a developers point of view, i'd say that Ultradev is not worth the trouble.
Ultradev is not very friendly when it comes to hand editing its auto genereated code. 90% of the time, when you add custom code, the Visual WYSIWYG will not display your page, due to UNKNOWN Code within your document.
Overall i rate this product rather in the middle. If you just need a simple and easy to use development tool, then use ultradev. If your looking for something more robust, i suggest you find yourself a good programmer.
