All right, I admit it, I hate sitting up at a desk while I am working on something with my computer. I have a large comfy leather recliner that I prefer to work from and since it was to hard to move the recliner every time I wanted to work comfortably, I went down to my local Staples to see if I could find a longer keyboard connector.
What I came back with is much, much better!
The Surf Mate Wireless Keyboard is a computer users best dream come true. It has all the things a regular keyboard has and just a little more. Using infrared technology, The Surf Mate keyboard allows me the freedom to do my work from someplace other than right in front of my monitor.
The Surf Mate looks like a regular keyboard except for one thing, there isn’t a wire to get tangled up in connected to the computer. Powered by four AA batteries, I can use my keyboard sitting almost anywhere in the room (with-in 20 feet) that my computer is in. An infrared beam sends a signal to a receiver just like if your keyboard was attached via cable.
The Surf Mate is easy to install. All you have to do is plug the receiver and pointer connectors into the PC ports that you would use for your regular keyboard and mouse, add your batteries to the keyboard and you are ready to go to work. I never fully understood the term “plug and play” until I brought this baby home and did just that.
Lightweight and attractive, the Surf Mate brings you crashing head first into technology that will shape the future of computer usage. I was amazed the first time I saw an infrared mouse but even then I didn’t realize that a keyboard using the same technology was so close to being available to the public.
The Surf Mate is only available for IBM-PC or compatible systems so if you were silly enough to purchase a MAC you may be tethered to your computer for a few more years until they develop something for you.
Mine came with a 1-year warranty but as far as I can see, the way it has performed for me so far indicates that I won’t need it anytime soon.
If you are tired of neck and back pain from sitting at your desk attached to a standard keyboard and going absolutely nowhere, get comfortable on the couch with the Surf Mate Wireless Keyboard from US Electronics.
I highly recommend it!
