Pros:Good security, Win 95 Interface
Cons:Mildly expensive, complicated to setup

I am a Microsoft Certified Professional and outsourced IT manager in Nashville, TN. I have inherited a number of NT based networks and have built new networks from the ground up. I have heard negative remarks about NT, but they have come from those who had NT setup by vendors who may not have had all the necessary knowledge to work with the product. A stable NT Server that is used for the purpose it was designed (business!) is a workhorse that will protect and serve as well as any policeman.

Attempting to extend the range of NT using something other than Microsoft or MS certified software is at the base of most every issue I have seen. Am I saying that Microsoft is perfect? NO! (Service Packs anyone?) While Microsoft has added hundreds of new features to NT via Service Packs, each one has also included patches and hot fixes for a wide range of issues. The bottom line is that you can trust NT with your business as long as it is configured correctly from the start. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, spend the money to have a professional who has references perform the task. It will be the best money you spend after the purchase of this incredible OS.
