| sentra's Full Review: Gran Turismo 2 for PlayStation 1 |
I just purchased the playstation about two weeks ago and had to buy a game, so I got Gran Turismo 2 (I heard a lot about it). This game is something else. The only downside to me is that I need to go back and get a memory card (I am new at playstation).
Just playing this game makes me feel good about this purchase. The graphics are incredible and the rally race is something else. The cars on this are better than the cars on the first one. The game comes with two disks, one is for the arcade version (one/two players) and the other disk is the simulation disk.
The simulation disk is the main disk. You start off with $10,000. You have to purchase a car and start racing to receive more money. After you get more money you can upgrade your auto parts and or purchase a newer better car.
Now before or after you purchase a car you can try to obtain various license's. There is license A, B, and International License A, B, C. After you obtain all five of those you have the option to obtain a "super License".
What I like to do with this disk is to drive on the "special events" races. You can win different amounts of money for ending in first to last place, plus if you finish in first, most races will give you a new car. Some of the new cars can range in a selling price from $1,200 - $250,000. So with that in mind you can do a great job on the races.
You also have the option on this disk to-wash your car, buy new rims and test your cars performance.
The arcade disk is basically like a normal car game. You can race any car you pick and you try to do the best you can. You don't receive any money, but you can practice.
If you have a memory card and you obtain some or all your licenses in the Simulation Disk. Save them to your memory card. Put in the Arcade disk and load your memory card. Each License you obtained will unlock a different about of tracks for you to race on in the Arcade disk.
All in All I recommend this game to any gamer that likes to spend time on a game to beat it. Plus, its really not the same thing each time you play.
