A friend told me about this website for on-line greeting cards. Previously I had been using bluemountainarts.com for greeting cards. Though bluemountainarts.com has a larger selection for a wider variety of occasions, the verses tend to get boring and monotonous. Not so with Ohmygoodness.com!
As its name might suggest, some of the greeting cards are little risque. Some may also be classified as tacky. But none are downright gross. There are no "dirty pictures." The cartoon pictures are humorous and original. The writers seem to have a handle on real-life situations and the topics change to match the current trends. For example, there are currently Millenium Bug cards and Titanic cards. Many of the cards are animated and many include music.
Their most popular line is the "flasher" cards, which depict various animals and holiday characters "flashing." Remember I said, risque, not dirty, right? These cards are still only cartoons. When the characters flash their coats, inside is some holiday related symbol not any anatomy. For example, the Halloween witch flashes and inside her coat are a bunch of bats! It is really cute!
There is also a section for sending a "postcard" rather than a regular greeting card. This is a nice option too because you don't have to worry about so much personalizing. It is more "canned" but is a nice option to just let someone know you are thinking about them.
Some of the topics included on the site are: birthdays, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Mardi Gras, Sweetest Day, New Year's Day, football, eclipse, world soccer, graduation, anniversaries, Mondays, Fridays, divorce, and many, many others. There must be something here for everybody.
These cards are definitely for fun, but because of the content, may not be suitable for children. This is more because of the innuendo, though, rather than straight content. There are still many of those old boring, sentimental (normal) cards here too, but those just aren't "me."
I find this site extremely easy to use. I find myself laughing just while looking for a card to send. Just like as if I was at the Hallmark store! I recommend it for sending electronic greetings to those who just defy a conventional greeting card!
