It was only a few years ago that internet access was available only to those who used it professionally. Your connection was delivered via a 9600 bps modem for about $20 plus 7 cents/minute. As the internet grew and matured, service providers started to offer flat-rate, unlimited access. For between $10 and $20, you could have complete, untimed access to the internet. Eventually the internet became the web and the web became the advertising economy; ISPs began to offer free internet access to those willing to look at their banners.
Now, even free internet service has matured so that providers compete for customers by promising that they will be forced to look at very few advertisements. iFreedom is one of the leading participants in this latest evolution in internet service.
Services like Netzero require you to allow a banner ad on your desktop while you surf. This ad takes up desktop space and slows your internet connection by requiring extra downloads. iFreedom requires none of this. It simply loads a selection of three or four banner ads every twenty minutes and asks you to click on one of them. Once you have clicked on an ad, you can move the window to the background and continue surfing. iFreedom is simple and easy to use; it handles itself impeccably during both web surfing and multiplayer games. It also tends to provide higher throughput speeds than most competing services.
iFreedom represents the completion of the evolution of internet service providers. It is fast, free and unobstructed by banner ads. Unlike some other free providers, iFreedom does not sell personal information about your web surfing habits to marketers. It is highly doubtful that any company will be able to provide the same high level of service while requiring less banner viewing time from users. Any company that attempts to operate with fewer demands on it's customers is unlikely break even after paying the costs of providing quality internet service.
