I used to get free internet service through my school, until I stopped taking classes. Then I had a friends password that would connect me to the internet, and all that wonderful world. I used Yahoo! to keep in touch with friends, but that would crash from time to time, and I missed the ease of using Eudora. So my mother suggested I try NetZero. It was free, and I got to use Eudora again.
Now, in the year that I used my friends password to get free access to the school server, and getting my mail through Yahoo! I never had so many problems and headaches as I do with NetZero. There would be so many times that I would be unable to get my mail because something was wrong with the server or some unknown reason. I would connect through the school account, and it would let me check my mail, but I could not reply to any of them.
Now, I know that I am not the smartest computer person out there - far from it. All I know how to do is check my email, and surf the web. But just a day ago NetZero decided to resend me ALL of the email that I have gotten from them since I joined in December. Granted, that's not a long time ago - but when you are waiting for 212 emails to download? Wow.
And on top of all of that - NetZero finds it funny recently to disconnect me after a half an hour of being online. That's not really all that great for when I am talking online to a group of friends, and I disappear.
Then - to top it all off, there is no local number to connect from my house. There is one from my parents house - and they live about 15 minutes from me. So there is the problem, once again, of me being able to check my email, but not being able to send anything back.
I do appreciate the free service that NetZero gives to those who need it or want it, but I don't think it's worth the trouble. I don't know if it is just me or not - but I bet there are more people out there with the same issues. So before you dive into NetZero, I would suggest you dive into looking for another service provider.
