read this before buying compaq

| m60's Full Review: Compaq Presario 5600 |
I had a compaq 5600 built to me specs. a year ago, thank goodness i took out there extended warranty,within 90 days of having it delivered. My nic went out, since i am on a network and use a cable modem, i needed this repaired.
I came to find out that the nic was part of the motherboard and not as single piece as they should be, so i took it in the shop to be repaired where the tech told me that he would have to replace the motherboard just to have a new nic installed because it was part of the motherboard!!!
well 2 weeks later the tech called and said it was ready to pickup.
I brought it home and hooked it up everything worked ok.
After 30 days my 19 inch compaq monitor went out, I called compaq and they told I would have to send it to them to be repaired and they would send me a box and pay for shipping.
I thought well at least it wont cost any thing to send in, they told me I should recieve the box in 3-5 days,
A week went by and nothing, I called back at this point they told since it was a 19 inch monitor I would have to take it to there local dealer!!!
A week wasted!!!
I took it to the shop.
They just gave me another monitor GREAT i thought..
90 days later the monitor went out again,I took back-----replaced it again.
6 months later it went out again..this time i took it back and told them to give me my money back and i would buy another brand.They did so i went and bought a viewsonic. no more problems so far.
the computer is doing alright..keeping my fingers crossed.
next time I am buying a dell computer.
