Pros: Great movie quality, very smooth glide, performs almost as well as a 32 MB card
Cons: A little out of date since the 64 MB cards are out now

About a year ago I used to have this old ATI 8 MB card in my tower, it came with the PC, needless to say, it sucked... really bad. My friend bought some 32 meg card from NVidia and gave me his Voodoo 3. Boy was I happy when I saw the results. The first thing I did after switching the cards was to play Half Life. The graphics were amazing, incredible clarity, and the glide was unreal. After about a month my friend was sick of his card, the fps rate was too high with his card and he was wishing he still had the voodoo.
The Voodoo 3 will run any game you want, the color is great, and gameplay is extremely smooth. Unless you are a super hardcore gamer who is willing to shell out a couple hundred dollars for the new Voodoo 5 then this is an excellent choice. For the price you just can't beat it, it sells for about 60 to 70 dollars depending on where you shop.
Here is a layout of my system:
PII 300 Mhz
128 MB RAM
Voodoo 3 2000 PCI
Sound Blaster AWE 64 Gold
Intel 10/100 Network card
My same friend who gave me the Voodoo 3 decided recently to buy the Voodoo 5 and I was impressed to say the least. His lag in almost all multiplayer games was 0 and there was no slow down in large open areas. But my card outperformed his in a few areas, movies mainly. All the movie sequences for Diablo II were incredibly smooth with ultra fine detail but on the Voodoo 5 it ran horribly, now noted there are some problems with Diablo II and 64 meg cards but I was still impressed with the quality pumped out by my Voodoo 3. It is worth it's weight in gold.
