| Janice_Alster's Full Review: Hewlett Packard HP PhotoSmart Ink-jet Printer |
My primary reason for buying the HP Photosmart Photo Printer was not to save money on prints. This printer adds a new outlet for those of us who have frequent creative urges. If you enjoy doodling in your favorite image editing program, for instance Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, you will now have the added ability to print out your creations - IN FULL GLOSSY COLOR ON PHOTO QUALITY STOCK PAPER.
You will love this printer for empowering you to do the following things: Producing a perfect picture after retouching a less than perfect result from a photo shoot; eliminating the time and space barrier in your compositions (Cousin Jessica from Texas magically appears in a photo with Cousin John in South Carolina); and gift giving now becomes an enjoyable experience of designing and producing personalized collages for family members or outings with friends.
My HP Photosmart Photo Printer is now on its second dye cartridge - and yes they are a tad pricey. I would recommend taking advantage of the option to print draft quality until ready for the final print. This might extend the life of the cartridges a bit.
I am able to get paper at any of the following: Best Buy, Office Max or Office Depot. Finding supplies locally has not been a problem.
I am currently working on producing a calendar that has twelve pages, glossy on one side, matte on the other. I was able to buy the kit for $9.99. In the past I have made certificates, business cards, and greeting cards. There is really no limit to what you can do.
Are there other printers on the market that can do the same thing? Maybe. But I only have experience with this one. Ease of use, low price, reliability, and high quality results have kept me satisfied. I have no reason to consider the others at this time.
