I must add another chapter to this opinion. After 3 days of trying to use this service, we were getting extremely frustrated with the number of times we were booted off. It was too often. It could have been that the 3 days were Fri-Sat, the weekend - peak usage times. But it was not something that we were willing to put up with. This does not necessarily mean that this would happen to everyone. Could be the area we live in, our computer, or many other things. But for us, it was not working well. I have cancelled the service and am now trying PeoplePC.
I have been asked what the $29.95 set-up fee covered. Basically the monthly service is $19.95, with a $10 set up fee. You are reimbursed the $19.95 after filling out your first survey. You can request a disk, or you can choose to download the program. I will tell you that it is nearly 6MG of download. Really fairly large for an ISP. The filtering would be nice, but the service just was not going to work for us.
They do offer a 10-day free trial. And I have asked for it to be credited back to me. I will keep you all posted about that!
