Show me the Pennies!!

When I first learned about this concept, I was, needless to say, a bit skeptical for a few reasons. To sum up the basic concept, you will be paid for reading emails that are sent to you by advertisers. You don't get a huge payoff - a rate of 5 cents each - but if you got enough, it could maybe, possibly be worth it. BUT.....
First off, I did not know if I would like the idea of getting my inbox filled with a bunch of ads. I figured, hey, if they want to pay me something for looking at their ads, it is worth a shot. I also wondered why they would send me any money for reading what I refer to as "Soft Spam."
To touch on my first point, I am not one that likes to read TOO many emails in the first place, so when I heard that they would be sending me "lots" of emails, I had to seriously think about whether I wanted to bother with it or not. Reluctantly, I clicked on the next page, where they asked me to fill out information about my interests, and told me I would only receive email about items of interest to me. So, I figured I would try it out, and hope to get something I might actually use.
Five days after I joined, I received my first email. YIPPIE! I just earned 5 cents! As it turned out, the link for the ad did not go through, but I had still received 5 cents to my account, and I was on my way... or so I thought. Since joining approximately 3 months ago, I have received a total of 4 emails, for a whopping total of 20 cents. Not to mention the fact that the only 2 emails I actually wanted to check out could not be opened. I don't know why they make it seem like they have thousands of emails to send, because I certainly haven't seen anywhere near that amount.
Soft Spam is the term I have given to emails that offer a product, but try to soothe your anger of getting their junk mail by adding a "To Be Removed From our List" option, or a "Free Offer" line to try to suck you in. I get many emails of this type everyday, so why would they pay me for them. I quickly learned my answer. They don't send you enough email for you to even worry about it.
Not everything about this is bad. I do figure that I will have enough to buy a well-deserved beer in about....3 years. BUT, hey! Don't knock that. That is one less beer I have to pay for out of my own pocket... GIVE ME A BREAK! Keep the pennies and the emails to yourself! I'll just write my opinion about how bad sendmoreinfo.com really is, and ACTUALLY get something out of it!
