So I feel this twinge of self doubt as I write this review, as the whole world seems to agree on quite the opposite of what I believe, but, I think Diablo as a whole, was not worth the energy it took me install it, much less play it. I really don't care to see a sequel.
First, I want to wretch every time someone calls this game an RPG. This game requires that you click on a person in the town wander down a couple levels in this dungeon till you find/do what he was asking for. No thought, just kill(that's not the RPG way, there's some thought) eventually you'll run across it. The dungeons lack all imagination… ~ugh~ the graphics aren't that bad really but, it pretty much feels like an old cartoon with the recycled background and every five levels or so it changes. The story line could work well on an old Atari game, it's very linear, no side tracks no tricks, no guessing, you know what is gonna happen next because they tell you what's gonna happen next and all you gotta do is point and click… Hey I've had a revelation!!! It's a lot like Galaga. You remember Galaga right? You have the space ship and you shoot a group of aliens about 5 x 2 then it gradually builds till the whole screen is full… same concept, only a lot better graphics. Oh and instead of green and blue space aliens, you fight little skeletons and demons and whatnot. Fun Fun.
It is good however for those rainy days, when you have nothing better to do and you don't feel like really applying yourself to much of anything… load it up and start a clickin! But be warned, if it rains more than 4 or 5 days, and your not playing multiplayer.... you may find yourself beating it twice.
