To get your photos into your computer or on the web quickly, the Umax Astra 1220S does the job! I use it with my Mac G4 with Apples SCSI card and was using it with my PowerBook 1400cs. The software supplied works perfectly with Photoshop and the ease of use is so easy, my forth graders could use it.

The only down fall, or so I thought, was that it never turns off. After much research, the light burns so little energy and has such a long life, that really isn't a problem at all.

The scanning bed is large enough to do legal documents, the colors are pretty true to the original, (enough that I can't tell) and you can even scan books with binding because of the hinged cover.

I would buy it again.
