Got PIII 600, 64MB(adding 64MB more from crucial.com),8X DVD, 2 batteries,Win98, internal v.90 modem, 14" TFT, 10GB, free color insert = $1760 net;
DELL is not doing so well; but good for consumers to buy this baby at a discount. This thing is fast, very fast; battery life is about 2:15 mins running "Saving Private Ryan" in optimized mode with 5% left,but it will go into suspend mode. Hard drive and fan are a bit noisy though; internal modem is pretty fast. Yellow color insert looks great. It has a very bright screen; sound is ok. U can get 64MB memory from crucial for 50$ less. It is only 1.5" thick and under 6 pounds; I sold my inspiron 3200s to a friend and love this baby; DELL really rules in notebook. AVOID the 3800s though; a lot of bad opinions about them and the software problem of MS ME with AOL... BUY IT NOW...WHILE IT IS CHEAP
