If you are looking for a program that will allow you to make PC to PC phone calls, Buddyphone is a good one to pick, its free, a relatively small download, and has a sleek appearance, actually looks like a pager.
Its very easy to use, all you need is the IP number,or e mail address of the person you want to call. It works just like a telephone, you don't have to press a button to talk and then release to hear the other end of the conversation. Buddyphone also runs alongside ICQ which makes it really easy if the person you want to call uses that program too. The only problem i have found using Buddyphone is, if you are using speakers instead of a headset you get a bit of echo, but this can mostly be fixed by adjusting your volume settings. I have tried a few other telephony programs, but always seem to come back to this one. In my opinion it is the best i have found.
