| andysmith's Full Review: Philips PC 800 Series Internal CDRW |
This is my second CDRW. I had to buy it in a hurry when my HP7200i gave up. When I opened the box there were no instructions but I just stuck it in the same hole as the HP one came out of and BINGO! Worked as a cd reader no problem.
Came bundled with EZCD4 and DIRECT CD3, my favoured writing software. Unfortunately, the versions on the CD did not support the model in the box. From the website, I got the tech support number. Luckily a free number, and answered quickly. The guy was knowledgable and polite, and suggested I download some updates from the Adaptec website. This I did and it works like a dream.
Above all - it looks great!
Had this beast about 6 months now, and written hundreds of CDs. Seems to be tolerant of all CDR brands purchased, including 80min unbranded, and, most importantly, the new business card CDRs. On the latter, you must set them widthways in the tray, but they do the business (so to speak!)
You are looking for a new drive? Buy this one & tell 'em I sent ya!
