Pros: You will think you are producing photos
Cons: Big. Like HUGE. The new P1000 is much smaller. No Mac driver, if you care about Macs.

| dannolte's Full Review: Hewlett Packard HP PhotoSmart Ink-jet Printer |
As a long time photographer and computer geek, it was only
natural that I bag the chemicals and get into digital. After
seeking a printer that would REALLY make a photo quality print
I found the Photosmart and I love it. Why? As an owner of an
Epson Stylus Color 800, I was really impressed with the print
quality...until about a year went by and *all* of my photos started
fading. Today, the reds are totally gone. At the store one day,
I saw an HP demo that showed Epson prints, a real photo, and HP
Photosmart prints after 1 year. Only the Epson has noticably faded,
just like mine. I bought the HP on the spot. The prints are so
good (Use ONLY HP's Glossy/Matte Photographic paper!!!)that I've
given them as gifts and nobody doubts that they are photos. I've
even handed them unframed to people, and unless they look on the
back and see the HP logo, it never occurs to them that they aren't
"real". It never jams. The (Windows only) software is great.
Weirdly enough, I have noticed that I can print the exact same
file from Photoshop and PictureIt, and the PictureIt print will look
significantly better. Go figure. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this printer.
