The GATEWAT to nowhere!

Being a PC specialist at my place of business, I have been exposed to more Gateway computer systems than I ever cared to be! This company may be big in the PC market but their machines and their service are at the bottom!
Both desktop and laptop, I find these machines to be problematic with any operating system. The video cards that ship with their systems usually require proprietary drivers from Gateway's web site. If you get a unit with an ATI video card, you cannot go use ATI's driver designed for that card...you've gotta use Gateways. It may not seem that big of a deal but when the manufacturer release new features in their driver software, you can't use it. Also Gateway's telephone tech support is bottom of the barrel. Want some real joy? Sit on hold for 35 minutes and listen to The Voice of Gateway! This repetitive music and commentary will make you want to rip your hair out. AND by all means, if you install something in your machine that Gateway didn't, don't expect help from them. They have a BAD attitude if you modify YOUR computer and try and ask them a simple question. Want a real computer? Read my review on Dell. Thanks for your time!
