Darvman has written a great review. The web of distrust, glitches in the site, the poor service, all contribute to my negative feelings towards Epinions.com.

As Darvman said it, "The website has had countless glitches and bugs over the past couple of months." There have been a few instances where I have tried to write a review, but nothing shows up except for "preview your review". When I press the button and post the review, all it says is "prod 1". Then when I click on the prod 1 review, it says review is missing or deleted.
Also, Epinions.com will go days and days with out updated the eroyalties. They will say that the last update was 4 days ago, and daily updating will commence the next day. 2 days later the same problem will occur. Its always something.
Sometimes the rating system will be inaccurate. At this moment, I have a reveiw that has 4 highly recommends and 1 recommend, and it says the average rating is recommended. This will reduce the amount of reads I get.
Another thing is that it says I have written 2 more epinions then I have. I really don't care, but this just demonstrates the glitches that are present.

Although Darvman man wasn't, I am a little annoyed at them ending the bonus eroyalties. I mean, how do they expect anybody to write reviews by giving them 3 cents (or 1) for every read? Common Now! They could at least give you 15 or 5 cents per read instead of this miniscule number.

Now, I know they did this to prevent people from taking advantage of the system- and I thought it was a good idea that they kept giving the bonus eroyalties to "experts" of a certain category. According to Epinions.com, an expert is one who "Writes many high quality reviews for a given category" and "Contributes to the site on a regular basis including reviews, ratings, comments and member advice." I hoped to be an expert in the games department, but I wasn't surprised when I wasn't chosen due to the lack of quality in many of my early gaming reviews. However, I was outraged when I saw who was picked.
Example - Naval
This individual has been a member since June 25, 1999; and has written 11 reviews- total. What happened to contributing to the site on a regular basis? He has also written 1 review in the games category- on sega dreamcast. 1 REVIEW. real expert material there.

Epinions better up the payment rate, or else they will find themselves getting no more reviews. You can't expect people to put time and thought into writing many reviews when they are getting almost nothing out of it. I may seem like a hypocrite here, by reviewing Epinions.com- but I am just trying to warn all you people that are reading this to not waste your time. I wouldn't write anything until the "New Program" goes into affect.
