Everybody in today's computer world is in risk of a crash. You can be careful, you can buy the best computers from the best companies, but there is always the chance of a crash. I would know, it happened to me. All of the sudden, all of my data was gone. No trace at all. I had not backed up, so all of my work was gone. And there was no way to get it back. Then I heard about the Zip Drive. The Zip Drive is one of the best computer items ever. It combines a good idea with a good design. It has a few drawbacks, but there are more pros than cons with this little wonder.
It is basically a little hard drive. It is a disk drive, but doesnt use normal disks. It uses special high density "zip" disks. These disks have 250 MB of space on them, so you can store a lot of data on them
These disks are perfect for so many uses. Their main use is probably back-up. You can store current work, old work, works in progress or whatever you want. They have more than enough space. If you put your data on these disks, you can rest well knowing that even if you have a crash, your precious data is safe on a disk. The reason these disks are so much better than normal 1.44 disks is that they have so much more space. You can save all of your work on one disk instead of a lot of normal floppies.
You can also use these disks to store MP3s, videos, games, programs, and so much more. You can use these as little mini hard drives.
There are, however, a few drawbacks. The Zip drives and zip disks are far from cheap. The drives themselves are around $100, and each disk is a little more than $10. I am not saying that it is not worth the price, but you should keep this in mind. Another thing is that the disks are hard to find. When you do find them, they are sometimes priced outrageously high. Make sure you get the disks for a fair price.
All and all, this is a great buy. The Zip Drive provides lots of space for all of your stuff. You can put your personal files on it, your work files, or anything you want. These disks are perfect for backing up your work. My advice is to buy one now.
