Pros: Small in size, big in convience, easy to use, very simple, great for memos, reminders, etc.
Cons: not too good for important and professional documents.

Post It, those little yellow memo pads with a sticky back, that you can write reminders on, phone numbers, and much more. Notepad is that, except a digital version, there are so many ways to use it! When I first opened it, back in the day when I had my first computer, I thought it was a useless application, and I used Microsoft Word for all my simple 2 lined memos, etc. Little did I know that Word Documents are more memory consuming than small notepad documents!
If you are a basic HTML web site designer, Notepad is for you. You may easily type up your HTML based web site on it, and it does not take up too much memory if you have a small hard drive. Perfect for building member profiles on epinions, so that you can keep it and edit it any time you want; online, or off line.
If you are forgetful, note pad is for you, you may use it to post a reminder title on your desktop, and nothing more! Or if you need to remember someone's phone number, buy don't want to go through the hassle of scrolling through and opening your address book, click on notepad, and make the title the person's name and phone number, very convenient indeed.
If you prefer simplicity and basics, over complexity, and hassle; note pad is for you as well, so basically- notepad is for everyone, just not for everything, it would be a waste of time to use notepad to write a 40 page term report, when doing something of great importance, always use a decent Word Processor, and check you spelling. What do you know? Guess where I wrote this epinion? Wrong, I wrote it on the site :-)
