Pros:Great product, easy to use, excellent replacement policy
Cons:No rechargeable battery pack. (or is that a pro?)
I suppose I shouldn't go about writing an article about visor without generically praising it with stuff I'm sure you've heard a hundred times over. I'm not a commercial for goodness' sake!
Cheap, cute, quick, easy to use, infinitely customizable.
It's a nice little thing.
If you want to hear about every little thing, you might as well read another review because it seems silly to be overly repetitively redundant and just repeat what hundreds have said before.
However..........
My visor broke a couple weeks ago. Just plum stopped working. One of those mystical phenomenon of electronics. Maybe it was dropped or came in contact with a magnet or something, it's so darn convenient to have around. Anyways, it broke. Although this does not say much for my visor, it says a lot about the customer support.
I called up the tech support number, and I was talking to a <gasp> LIVING </gasp> representative in less than a minute. After he was totally unable to fix it over the phone (told you it was broken), he referred me to the customer care line. I called there, had to wait a bit -- but not too long -- and talked to someone else.
After telling practically the whole life story of the visor over again, she asked for name, address, model, serial number, etc. I was then told that within three days a replacement would arrive and I only need return the broken one. Never once did the words "warranty" or "service charge" or "shipping fee" or "4-6 weeks" cross the phone line.
Kudos to Handspring for having friendly, responsive customer support people.
(Oh goodness, I can't believe I just said kudos. I'm sounding like a camp counselor!)
It's nice to know that I can have a great product and the peace of mind of knowing that, if something bad should happen, it will be replaced, and no extended warranty is necessary!
