I bought the Sidewinder game pad because I needed a 6-button pad to play NFL Fever 2000. I always loved my cheap little Gravis gamepad, but it did not have enough buttons.
The Sidewinder is a comfortable gamepad for sure. After several hours of playing, there are no hand cramps like the older pads. It is contoured to fit perfectly in the hands, which is just how a game pad should be designed.
I don't like the placement of the 2 index finger trigger buttons. I find that many times which playing a game, the normal grip on the gamepad causes the accidental pressing of these buttons, which interferes with some games (especially NFL Fever 2000).
Also, I dont think the D-pad (the directional controller) allows for precise movement other that in the 8 general directions. Circular or curved movement come out jagged, which I did not find with the old Gravis pad.
Overall, I am pleased with the Sidewinder given that it is one of the less expensive game controllers available.
