| chalstea's Full Review: Gateway Performance 700 |
Since I purchased my Gateway PC, I have had nothing but problems from the start. While loading software, the system crashed, resulting in a lengthy call to Technical Support. After being told to reload Windows, (the wrong solution), my modem would not work. Three follow up phone calls to technical support finally got the modem working (a week later). Then, the CD Rom quit working. And the sound would be in and out. More calls (my time) to technical support, and a return authorization number that was an incredible 24 digits LONG (are they CRAZY???), led them to send me a 2nd Gateway machine. Two weeks had gone by, I had purchased the top of the line, and gotten little customer support and spent some 14 hours on the telephone trying to get my brand new Gateway to work. The 2nd Gateway machine arrived, and it started out OK. A week later, that CD ROM unit quit working. More phone calls and more of MY time wasted resulted in my demanding a refund, sending both PC's back, and buying a Dell. The Dell arrived and I haven't had any problems since.
