I bought this laptop to replace my full-featured desktop. The ZX's 500MHz PIII processor is really fast and on par with 500MHz desktop processors in terms of speed. I decided on the ZX because it offered more features and power at a lower cost than other major laptop manufacturers. Plus Micron RAM is considered pretty high quality too. My laptop came with a 12GB HD, DVD and 160MB of RAM. Photoshop and video are no problem on it. Its 15" LCD screen/ is sharper than the one on the Gateway laptop I examined. That could also be due to a better video card in the ZX. My ZX is currently driving my 19" monitor at 1024x1168 beautifully and can go much higher. There are connectors on the ZX to support BOTH an external keyboard and mouse and two USB devices. I also have a printer and scanner hooked up. It is a great desktop replacement. The case is very solid. So is the keyboard unlike many other laptops. The only dislike is the flimsy door covering the connectors on the rear of the machine. If I were slightly clumsy it would break. I hope it doesn't.
