Yahoo messenger is another one of the instant messangers to pop on the scene in the last couple of years. Many of you may have hear of ICQ which was one of the first ones available.
For those of you who don't know, an instant messenger is a little utility that you run while online that allows you to send typed messages to other people running the same messenger similar to email, only much faster. It allows you to conduct conversations with people accross the office, or the continent with ease.
I really like Yahoo's version of an IM. It is more friendly and easier to use than ICQ. Also, there are not as many features, but that can be a good thing. I started out using ICQ and used it to chat with family members. Now I use yahoo's messenger and am much happier. The people you meet are very friendly. It is fun to start a conversation with someone you don't know, and probably will never meet, who may be thousands of miles away.
Yahoo's messenger has a lot of really neat features, but they are easy to use. You can even set up a voice chat if both parties have Microphone and speakers. Also, the messenger fit's well with the other yahoo content such as clubs and groups.
