Are you tired of slow or unviewable framerates watching OpenGL demos or using OpenGL apps with an older video card? Yet, are you still unable or unwilling to spend $150 or more on the latest, greatest 3D video card? This is the ideal in-between card. It has great 3D performance and compatability. I have tested many 3D demos, screensavers, and applications and have discovered almost no glitches or incompatability. Compare that to the last card I had which used the Intel i740 chipset. It could not run OpenGL programs at faster than 3 frames a second. Or take the Voodoo II based card I had which suffered in almost all applications except those which used Glide drivers.
This card runs not only OpenGL, but DirectX programs extremely well. The framerates on all but the most complicated of scenes was exceptionally good and no slowdown was noticeable on my Celeron 450.
If you like making 3D animations or games, try this free program: Blender at http://www.blender.nl
This card will allow you to run games you make yourself in real-time with textures! This card will also make 3D models zoom around in editing mode as you rotate, skew, or distort 3D models.
I highly recommend this product to budget-concscious, high performance afficionados.
