| Whirlwind's Full Review: Xerox DocuPrint N2025 Laser Printer |
The main reasons I chose this printer were because it was 1200dpi, had a USB connection, it printed tabloid size, and the Xerox 100% satisfaction guarantee. Big Mistake!
There is very little about this printer that I am satisfied with. The display screen on the printer is very difficult to read and cumbersome to negotiate. Postscript errors happen on a regular basis. It doesn't support custom page sizes. The extra tray needs to be pulled out and pushed in again, sometimes two or three times with each use, so will most certainly break at some point. The print quality is acceptable for text, but horrid forhalftones or tints (photos and grey areas). You can't even specify 100 line screen; the only screens it supports is 50, 63 and 85, and they print very poorly with no adjustments to lighten or darken available. The user manual is worthless.
Their phone support is ABYSMAL; nobody there is familiar with this model, and since I'm a Mac user, trying to get any help from them is like beating my head against the wall - it feels much better when I stop. (This printer clearly is not a good choice for Mac users; they don't even include a usb driver with the software.) They have sent very nice tech guys to my home on several occasions, but they were unable to help with most of the problems, because they were simply limitations of this printer. Since it took them two months to figure this out, it cannot be returned, because the cut off point was one month - quite a catch 22!
All in all, 100% satisfaction - NOT!
