| palmodov's Full Review: Epson Stylus Photo 2000P Inkjet Printer |
I have been a Epson printer user for many years. I started with the Epson 400 and graduated on up. I had been using the Epson 700 for my digital pictures and thought that they were great. But the Epson 1270 beats it in many aspects.
The printer is quiet and it prints in double the time. It is great if you want to do big pictures. I like 11x14's. The quality of the pictures are better than their other photo printers and when you use glossy photo paper they look as good as a studio.
I've tried other printers and the one thing that turns me off is the time they take to start printing. The Epson can spool a large picture and start printing within a couple minutes where some of the other brands can take up to 10 minutes. The warm up time is a big improvement also. The Epson 800 could take up to 3 minutes to warm up but this one took under a minute. I also like to use photo canvas for my portraits and the printer handled the size and weight very well.
I like the fact that the ink is fade resistant and that the prints come out virtually dry on the glossy paper.
The set up was easy. I had it up and running in less than 15 minutes. The ink cartridges are kind of expensive though. The are double the price of the Epson 700 photo printer.
It was definitely a good investment. If you are not interested in printing large pictures then the Epson 870 is a good printer and it cost a lot less.
