The 8660 is the one of the first Hewlett Packards to feature the new Coppermine Pentium chipset. with 256Kb of Advanced Transfer Cashe... combine that with the rest of the computer and youve got yourself a pretty quick machine for under $1400
This computer features a 533 Mhz Pentium III processor, with 128 Mb of ram (upgradeable to 768 with 3 256 DIMMS) making it a good speed right out of the box. Also there is a 20.4Gb hard drive, thats really going to be more than you will probably need...but why not!?! There is an 8X DVD drive and a CD-RW drive (4x2x20) with one open front slot for adding a new drive (a zip i guess). The 8660 comes with a Intel 810 Graphics card, giving it up to 11Mb of video memory. Thats probably going to be enough for most of what you want to do, unless you have some of the newer 3D games (Halflife, for example; could probably run better with more video memory) but nothings perfect.
From there, you are to the only real problem that i can find with this computer. There is no AGP slot, so your stuck with the 11Mb of video memory. However because of the good price for everything else your getting, this is a really solid computer.
