ok, so netzero is not perfect. but it's free. it is not my main internet service provider, but with the small, free cd that i got from ordering tickets through priceline, i have both a backup for my internet in case i am not able to get on as well as a portable isp at my fingertips. it takes about five minutes to install netzero, and setup is very self-explanatory.
the downside is that in order to be free, you have to look at their advertising. but isn't that how everything goes these days? just think of it like an alladvantage-like company. they give you internet service for looking at their little bar (which could be up to 20 or 25 dollars a month anyway). i do know people, though, that cringe at the thought of a viewbar taking up screen space. and for these people i say, pay the twenty bucks a month and avoid the advertising.
