Everyone loves MYST. Everyone. When I got my computer I wanted to play video games. Everyone I know told me to get MYST. I thought, "Wow, this must be some game!" I bought it. After about ten minutes of wandering around I was bored. I pressed all the buttons and I had wandered around the "island" until I was pretty sure where everything was. I still didn't know what they wanted from me. There are no clear directions. I bought the cheat book.
There are not opponents. No one to fight against. Even with the cheat book I couldn't get passed the first level because I am totally tone deaf. You're not playing against anyone, and you never know if you are ahead or behind. I cheated around the first level so I could keep playing. I finally beat the game, but it is not something "fun" to play.
This isn't a game, it is a story. It doesn't matter to me how cool the graphics are, I have more fun playing Zelda with an old Nintendo.
