I like to call MSN Explorer "Internet for dummies". The whole idea of this program is to take control away from the end user and direct you to more Microsoft sites. In fact it got to the point where I got so frustrated by being controlled by Microsoft that I have to delete the program.
You can run the program without configuring it to display all the Microsoft quick link type features, but then what good would this program be at all? It looks like something you'd let a five year old surf the net on.
In fact I think I'd only recommend this to people who are using the net for the first time. If you know enough about the net, you are used to changing options. The net isn't supposed to be about being confined, that's how this browser makes me feel.
Truthfully, this program makes me feel trapped in a world called MSN. Like I am in their network and I can't escape. Surely it's not actually that extreme, but it seems that way. If this is the future of the net I'm getting offline and never coming back.
