You know the biggest diff between the printer is the way that the original printer loads it's paper. Such that it doesn't roll the paper through a roller loading. HP has made a specail paper just for this printer, for that reason only. This printer also supports 6 differnet colors in the ink cartrage, as the new 1000's series have only 3 in the color cartrage, but are able to do the samething.
My choice would be for the origanal printer, if you are really into photograghs and want want to have the most perfect photo you can get, although you do get a lot of cool options with the P1000 series such as you don't even need a PC to print your photos if you have a digital camera that saves pic to a memory card.
