Plenty of programs offer free long distance phone call throught Internet. If you check them out, pretty soon, you will find out most of them have these things in common:
1. Most offer free phone call in US or Canada only.
2. Most offer free PC2PC phone call, while still charge PC2phone, although at a lower rate than regular phone2phone.
3. Lots of them ask you to download and install their software.
Well, what if you want to make a international long distance phone call to someplace where PCs are not wide spread, let's say a country like China, one of the most expensive phone rates in the whole wide world, costs you about a buck a minute. While a phone call to HongKong(which not so far away) only costs you about dime a minute sometime.
NOT ANY MORE, thanks to mediaring.com, now you can make pc2phone call to China for free! I first tried the program 5 months ago, and was so disappointed in the quality, a 5 minute phone call you can have at least 4 minutes and half yelling WHAT?? and then mediaring suspend the program and it was back on weeks ago. Although voice can still be choppy sometime, it's perfect for casual talk. Mediaring is easy well, very easy to use, no software to download, just go to the site, register, then sign in, after that, an applet will pop up, and you are all set. Keep in mind, its quality still no match for regular phone line, and you will get disconnected from time to time, but you can't beat the price.
