I have been using @Home (Provided by Rogers in my area of Canada) Since September 1998. The speeds obtained, while not as fast as they should be, are still a far cry from any other internet connections I have used. I love that I never have to dial up, type in passwords, or have to reconnect everytime my ISP crashes (which happened often before). I basically have nothing bad to say about the cable modem.
I have nothing bad to say about their service either. I have called their tech. support many times for various reasons. The first of which was when my IP address was stolen. I spent most of the night on the phone talking to a few members of the staff, they never kept me on hold, rather they took down my phone number and called me back when they had news about the culprit. When he/she tried to hack my IP again later that night, they got a manager involved and they shut down the offenders internet connection (it was another @home customer).
Since then I have called many times, my internet connection has gone down about 5 times in the last year, never for longer than about 5 hours (usually less). Each time I called @home, and was informed (before I spent ten minutes on hold) that there was a problem in my area.
It seems Window 98 has a bug that messes up TCP/IP addresses, and they helped me fix that too. I happened to mention I didn't like my username, so they went out of their way, and changed it for me. I moved, they came and hooked up the modem for free ...
I could go on, in fact I called them twice two days ago when I bought my new computer. I highly recommend Rogers@Home, I can't speak for the whole company, but I know that the Rogers portion of it is wonderful.
