Pretty darn good...

Written: Apr 19 '00
Pros:Pays $.50/hour surfing for up to 40hrs/month + 5 levels of referrals
Cons:New company working out some bugs

mValue is one of my favorite ad bars to run. I use it in conjunction with AllAdvantage, Cashsurfers, and Jotter. Overall, I really like Mvalue. It's very similar to AllAdvantage, but does have a few distinctions. mValue has a small section titled "mValue points" where it monitors how long the bar is up and running while connected to the internet. You can actually see the points accumulating (1 point for every second). The slightly confusing part is that "mValue points" don't necessarily correlate with the numbers of hours that you are credited for "active surfing".

There are two small green lights next to the "mValue points" section. One indicates that you are on-line (earning points) and the other indicates that you're actively surfing (earning money). Now we all know what money is good for, but what about points? Well, "they [points] have value and can be applied to future contests and promotions." For example, they are recently gave away $1,000,000.00 and ten $10,000.00 prizes to those members with the most points. The bar also has a "Privacy" box that if clicked, will block outside influences from seeing where you're surfing (nice little feature). Also, since referrals are a big part of what you can earn (although not for me yet, I'm up to zero so far ;) mValue has the cool feature where you only get credit for your referrals surfing if you surf an equal amount. In other words, if you referral surfs 15 hours, and you surf only 10 hours, you will only get credit for 10 of your referrals 15 hours. While some may see this as a negative, I think it's great, because it encourages EVERYONE to surf, which is the only way we're all gonna make money, right?

But hey, even without the points, privacy and referrals, getting $.50/hour for up to 40hrs/month puts mValue right up there with AllAdvantage. Why not above AllAdvantage? Well, mValue is a new company, and with all new companies, need to work out some bugs. By their own admissions, their "monthly statement" page is inaccurate and I've surfed (like right now) and haven't accumulated points. But they assure their customers that "your underlying data is both accurate and secure, the problem is with our display." Also, occasionally, there are difficulties connecting their ad bar due to "congestion".

So in summary, if you're into "Paid for Surfing" sites, mValue is a must try, likely soon to be a staple of anyone's "Paid for Surfing" diet. If you found this post useful, feel free to use my Member ID, "pthawaii".
