I am online all the time and during that time, I can keep in touch with basically anyone I want using AOL instant messenger. The best part about AIM is that almost everyone eitehr uses it or AOL, so I can talk to all of my friends, even those with different ISPs. My father hates AOL so AIM is a great way to keep in touch with people who do have AOL even though I don't. I like it more than the phone because I can talk to a bunch of people at once and there are never any awkward pauses. Most of the time, I leave it on while I do my homework or surf the web, just to see who comes on and signs off. I can monitor everything going on at my boyfriend's house (hehehe) because between him and his 3 siblings, someone is always online. I can even talk to my favorite musicians when I find out their screen names. There are only a few problems with AIM. First of all, I dont like that you can't view AOL member profiles. Sometimes, an unknown person will IM me and I want to look at his profile but I have to get my boyfriend to do it. Thats annoying. Also, AIM stops working sometimes and I wont be able to sign on. I feel so out of touch when that happens! Eventually, the problem will be fixed and all is well again. All in all, I really like AIM and it totally eliminates the need for paying too much for the overrated AOL.
